These seeds have long been used by the Native Amazonian peoples — as well as those in other indigenous cultures — for decorative purposes, in jewelry and adornments. On an energetic level, some indigenous cultures believe wearing the Acai seed will bring good health, wellness, youth and beauty.

The beads are hand-harvested from the jungle floor, hand polished and drilled, and then hand-strung for the necklaces by our friends in the Amazon region.

Huayruro seeds are found in pods in the tall trees of the rain forest. The red and black seeds are said to bring good fortune and abundance, while warding off negative energy. The mixture of black and red on the seeds is also said to bring balance. Locals collect the seeds that fall to the jungle floor, and many keep them in jars in their houses to bring them luck.
